Research and Development

Fibretech has a dedicated Technology department with experienced staff researching aspects of both product and process development. This commitment to product development has led to new applications for fibres and continuous filament in a variety of industries.

Fibretech also have strong links with universities and technical institutions throughout Europe and the US (Cambridge University, IUTI and MIT), and a wide range of testing facilities for product evaluation are available.

Fibretech has carried out many projects for individual customers on a contractual basis and as part of larger consortiums through the EU CRAFT funding programme. All work carried out is treated as confidential.

Melting and vacuum furnace facilities and a dedicated laboratory are available for product development and prototyping, where key process parameters can be monitored and measured.
