FIBREX HT A new steel fibre for refractory.
FIBREX HT is a new steel fibre developed by Fibretech. At the heart of FIBREX HT is a NEW Alloy, unique to Fibretech offering;
- Enhanced performance at high temperature.
- Reduced chromium in refractory.
- An enhanced alternative to 446 and 430 steel fibres.
Together these offer the best in Melt Extract (ME) refractory metallurgy and casting technology.
Product Benefits
NEW Alloy
With new additions at up to 6%, “Other” alloying elements form helpful, discreet “non-chromium carbides”, which “pin” grains to their original fine crystalline size and structure, stopping grain growth, improving oxidation resistance, strength, thermal expansion, ductility and conductivity.
FIBREX HT at 1200°C.
Up to 6% less chromium - reduced chromium in refractory.
FIBREX HT's enhanced oxide layer.
Higher oxidation resistance - better thermal shock resistance.
430 - Embrittling carbide networks
Increased strength - better mechanical shock / refractory toughness.
Lower thermal expansion reduces micro cracking
Lower thermal expansion - reducing differential expansion and micro-cracking.
Rapid cooling improves ductility
Higher ductility - improves refractory defect tolerance.
Higher thermal conductivity - dissipates energy efficiently & evenly.
