A remarkable material with the strength and weldability of steel yet, as light and malleable as woven cloth, offering unique new properties

Using Rapid Solidification Technology (RST) to create a non-woven mat of stainless steel fibres, Fibretech has created a unique material that has a multitude of applications.

Fibresheet is light, strong and durable, able to withstand temperatures in excess of 700°C without losing its properties, and also has qualities of high corrosion resistance, high thermal conductivity, high porosity and high permeability.

Fibresheet is also exceedingly formable and weldable. The ability to shape, cut and weld the material enables its use in a wide range of applications.

Benefiting from international collaborative research and extensive product development, Fibresheet is now available in a range of gauges down to 1.2mm, all of which retain the products unique properties, enabling Fibresheet to enter markets in the automotive and aerospace industries for filtration and noise reduction applications.

Fibresheet was developed by Fibretech as part of a collaborative project with Cambridge University in the UK and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (CMI) USA.
