| Fibrex
SS is a corrosion-resistant stainless steel fibre developed
by Fibretech for the reinforcement of concrete used in the construction
and mining industries. Fibrex SS is a ferritic
stainless steel, based on international standards, manufactured
using Fibretech’s unique Rapid Solidification (RS) technology.
Fibrex
SS conforms to ASTM 820-85 “ Standard Specification
for Steel Fibres for Fibre Reinforced Concrete”,
the current American standard for steel fibres in concrete. The
characteristic tensile strength of Fibrex SS is
double the minimum tensile strength required by this standard.
Fibrex
SS stainless steel fibres extend the life of cast, pre-cast
and sprayed concrete by increasing flexural, compressive, shear
and impact strengths, fracture toughness and crack resistance. It
can also improve corrosion and spall resistance, and is uniquely
suitable to corrosive environments.
Fibrex
SS can also improve high temperature crack and spall resistance,
making it a suitable reinforcement for concrete required to operate
in fire safety systems.
